І. Передтекстовий етап (pre-listening) роботи з піснею
Прогнозування щодо теми повідомлення (Speculating or brainstorming about the topic).
1.1 В якості домашнього завдання запропонувати учням знайти цікавий матеріал про виконавців пісні та їх творчість.
What do you know about Sonata Arctica? Do you know where the band is from? What are they famous for? Etc.
1.2 Запропонувати учням виразити свої здогадки та ідеї про що може йтися в пісні. Як вони розуміють назву.
The Misery – great suffering that is caused for example by being very poor or very sick; great unhappiness (Страждання, нещастя).
1.3 Передбачення учнями слів та виразів, які можуть з’явитися в пісні (Brainstorming or predicting). Написати їх на дошці.
1.4 Зіставлення лексичної одиниці з її значенням (Matching the words). Учні отримують картки зі словами та виразами серед яких їм потрібно підібрати правильний синонім.
